A brand new release from the talented hand of Nick Glaetzer, this is effectively a joven style Tassie Pinot Noir built for immediate consumption. Cool labelling too.
Curiously, whilst the intention is for immediacy, this light and bright Pinot Noir is begging for more time in the bottle. At present it’s all arms and legs, the fruit clearly in abundance yet restrained with a wallop of acidity. It feels juicy, yet also finishing harder than you’d want – all backbone, no cohesion. Still, in 6 months time this should resolve into something fun and friendly.
Drink: 2014-2016
Score: 16/20, 87/100
Would I buy it? Not now. 6 months time a possibility.
