Bremerton Coulthard Langhorne Creek Cabernet Sauvignon 2013
Every bit the archetypal Langhorne Creek red.
Dark red with a purple black edge, this is big, oaky and full, creamy oak sweetness on both nose and palate, coating red and black berries. Dry, creamy and acidic palate carries an ultra smooth swathe of generous, oaky berry fruit before a slightly raw finish.
Utterly inelegant, but still carries some fruit weight, lovers of oak generous young reds will lineup for this, even if it’s something of a caricature. Personally I appreciate the style, but it’s just not something I enjoy drinking (at least not as a young wine). Too much of everything. Drink: 2018-2030. Score: 16.5/20, 88/100+
