Steels Gate Pinot Noir 2016
From the 30yo Steels Gate Vineyard. No irrigation, hand bottling, no fining or filtering. Love the handling. Interesting wine this too – there’s the touch of the warm vintage that gives this a really soft, languid raspberry fruitiness that initially makes it look like simple juice. It isn’t until you look closer to see that there is more than meets the eye. Either way, this is a juicy, ripe, easy drinker and the real joy in that easy, low acid red fruitiness, even if it’s not for the long haul. Best drinking: Now to four year. 17/20, 90/100. 13.8%, $30. Would I buy it? I’d drink a few glasses.
