Alkoomi Riesling 2011 (Frankland River, WA)
12.5%, Screwcap, $20
In an awkward phase this Riesling.
Lime and balt salt aromatics over an overtly neutral palate. The first hints of bottle age are creeping in to give more weight but it also tastes a little sweet and clumsy to finish. Didn’t love this much, though history says it may well look better with further bottle age.
Score: 16/20, 87/100
Would I buy it? No.
