A very handy mid-weight Cabernet Merlot from a forgotten Victorian stalwart.
There we go, review done – bedtime. This is better than just handy, however, coupling black and red berries, chocolate sauce, a little mint and plenty of Cabernet character. It’s ripe – Bendigo ripe – but happily medium bodied with both plenty of berry fruit and proper tannins.
Well made, well judged and quite delicious – this is hardly a profound red, but I enjoyed it’s weight and vibrancy.
Drink: 2013-2018
Score: 17.5/20, 91/100
Would I buy it? I’d go a glass if looking for value.
