Embargogate: Penfolds 2014 Bin Series Release

Penfolds 2014 Bin Series Release

I’ve been asked this morning by Penfolds to take down these tasting notes, as the wines are officially under embargo until the 28th February. No embargo of any kind was communicated at any time during the tasting, hence why I published my notes…
Full notes will be republished on the 28th February.

  1. When you have a marketing strategy that has been working really well for you, as this does for TWE in Australia, you don't want it ruined by a rogue wine writer out of control, do you?

    1. Oh and I'm particularly rogue, clearly.

    2. If your product is good, they should have no fears of rogue anything. If its over priced then……

  2. So, what was it again ? 28 ordinary, 128 surprisingly poor, 138 great, 389 not a keeper, 407 and 150 better value around than those two…

    1. Bin 138 easily the standout. New Bin 9 up there too. Bin 28? Less so…

  3. Any insights on the 23?
