By my rough reckoning today is the sixth birthday of this blog – six years young and going strong!

I’d thus like to take this opportunity to thank you for reading, perusing or just passing by my little wine blog over the past six years, whether you’re a recent convert or a long term follower. As J. Fenech once said ‘I love youse all’.

Harking back, when I first started recording my tasting notes six years ago I actually didn’t give a shit who read it. It was a tasting notes repository firstly, serving as a spot where my wine bleatings could be faithfully stored and recorded (with an appropriate date stamp). Fast forward six years and this blog has delivered me opportunities to taste great wine all around the world – far beyond what I could have dreamed of.

What is most rewarding though is not the samples, junkets or any of the trappings, but the cool people I’ve met along the way. Cool people, who are often much more talented then me, and still point out when I put an extra vowel in a winemakers name (try spelling Mike de Iuliis’ name when you’re drunk!) and shout me beers when I leave my wallet at home. You know who you are…

All I can say then is thanks. Thankyou so much for stopping by, commenting, reading – everything. Massive hugs for all. Now bring on another six years!
