Zema Estate Cluny Cabernet Merlot 2009 (Coonawarra, SA)
14%, Screwcap, $24.95
This is the best Cluny I can remember in recent times – finally getting the oak and fruit weight right.
Red fruit and a waft of capsicum – an almost Cab Franc light redcurrant perfume, giving this lightness and a nice whiff of mint. Dry and quite grunty palate is a little warm and dried but packs a tidy punch. Grippy and hearty but still medium bodied, with plenty enough brightness to keep it light.

Would I buy it? Not quite. A little drying for that. Solid though.
