Xabregas Mount Barker Cabernet 2011

Xabregas Mount Barker Cabernet Sauvignon 2011 (Mount Barker, WA)
14.5% $22

I like Mt Barker Cabernet. Often more structural and entertaining than Shiraz, though can be a bit minty. This is a pretty classic example too.

A flick of mint and just a little vegetation over archetypal blackcurrant. Palate is quite juicy after the nose. Sweet cocoa powder oak and some dark bitter tannins. Really quite substantial, gritty coffee ground tannins a highlight, finishing sweetly full.

Plenty to grab hold of here. Well priced too.
