Willow Bridge Dragonfly Sauvignon Blanc Semillon 2014

Willow Bridge Dragonfly Sauvignon Blanc Semillon 2014

I’ve always thought that these Willow Bridge Dragonfly wines are much better than the naming and label suggests. I hate to say it, but they almost feel like ‘critter’ wines, and a quick straw poll of some friends who I showed the wine too thought the same. Less Dragonfly, more Willow Bridge methinks..

This is a fresh little number too – lemon-lime, juicy melon fleshy fruit and sprightly lemon acid. Pleasant, clean, refreshing and has more drive than many similar sub $20 Sauv/Sem blends, complete with a quite long finish.

Forget the label, this is genuinely good WA white at a very fair price.

Details: 12.3%, Screwcap, $18
Tasted: February 2015, Sample
Best drinking: 2015-2016
Score: 17/20, 90/100
Would I buy it? I’d drink a glass or two for sure.
