Audrey Wilkinson Tempranillo 2014

Audrey Wilkinson Tempranillo 2014

I wonder if Tempranillo will work in the Hunter? Sangiovese certainly hasn’t, but perhaps Temp. will have a happier time of it.

Anyway, this Audrey Wilkinson is certainly a vibrant number. Bright purple mauve, this smells very juicy – a real joven style. Slightly candied nose is all light musky purple juice flavours, with a light palate and an earthy edge. A simple early drinker, the lightness is friendly, the intensity suggesting young vine simplicity with little varietal character to mention.

An easy light red, not much more. Drink: 2015-2018. 15.5/20, 84/100

Details: 13.8%, Screwcap, $20, Sample
Would I buy it? No.
