Thommo’s entry level Hunter Shiraz, and a blend of barrels from the various vineyards. This Thomas Wines Synergy Shiraz 2014 is the latest release of a label that is only a new addition to the range (second release by my count).
A vibrant wine it is too. Vibrant good. Ruby/magenta coloured, the nose shows a little kirsch, red and black berries and juicy (lots of juiciness in these ’14 Thomas Shiraz wines) fruit…

It’s a simple wine in the scheme of things – all upfront easy fruit – but that is missing the appeal of a quality, mid-weight, ripe year Hunter Shiraz.Best drinking: 2016-2025. 17/20, 90/100. 13.7%, $25. Would I buy it? Recommendable, though I’d pay the extra dollars for the Sweetwater.
