I spotted this on a shelf yesterday and thought it was worth a punt. Been a while between Massale Pinots here at Ozwinereview HQ.

It delivers too. A surprising punch of quite rich  oak on the nose, before a typically fleshy and quite dense cherry fruit palate. It’s quite a big wine this vintage of Massale but it adds to the feel of quality (and value for money). Slight warmth on the finish too. Not a shrinking violet but definitely substantial Pinot.

Best drinking 2017-2022. 17.7/20, 92/100. 13%, $30 retail. Would I buy it? I’d go a glass or two at least. Well priced and substantial wine, if not exactly delicate.
