Now this is a surprise packet. I’ve got a massive soft spot for Gewurtz, but this Huntington Estate is good.

Concentrated and varietal, the nose a riot of lychee fruit, before a strongly phenolic and long palate. Lots of power and concentration here – a real surprise packet, with driving acidity to carry things along. Some anti-Gewurtz people may well try this and look at me like I’m a crazy person, but I was impressed. Well priced too. Best drinking: 2016-2019. 17.7/20, 92/100. 11.8%, $22. Would I buy it? Sure would.

  1. Concur – enjoyed this too, even more so at the price for gee-whiz!
