BEER: Lord Nelson Backburner IPA

BEER: Lord Nelson Backburner IPA

I like the ‘wit IPA’ concept but it often produces middling beers, almost like the quest for balance is too hard. Numbers: 42 IBU.

This Lord Nelson Backburner IPA has the banana porridge wit beer flayva and thickness, but you’d be hard pressed calling this an IPA. The wheat takes over, the result more like a hoppy wheat beer than anything else.

It’s solid brew, but not exciting enough to go beyond ‘good’. 3.5 stars. 5.7%
