Bremerton Langhorne Creek Malbec 2015

You know exactly what you’re going to get from Bremerton, and that’s flavour. This Langhorne Creek winery makes typically well-priced wines of weight and power, even if more grace would be welcome.

This is no exception; and big, warm mouthful of purple berry juice. Lots of round purple fruit punch here and coconut oak, then backed up by a raw, slightly astringent mouthful of drying tannins and firm acidity to finish. Elegant and easy drinking it’s not, but easy to appreciate the volume of everything. Best drinking: 2018-2028. 16.5/20, 88/100. 14.5%, $24. Would I buy it? Not quite for me.
