Castello Di Brolio Chianti Classico Gran Selezione 2011

Castello Di Brolio Chianti Classico Gran Selezione 2011

Most Gran Selezione leaves me a bit cold. This, again, has too much oak. But it’s sexy oak. Does that help?

Luxurious oak. Cadbury Chocolate powder fills every corner. More than just oak, sure, and the tannins are fine. It’s classic, but the oak shades too much through nose and palate. Best drinking: It will get better and likely live twenty years. But all that artifice! 17.5/20, 91/100+. 14%, $70. Would I buy it? I don’t think I would.
