Eldorado Road IV Nations Vintage Fortified 2015

An excellent NE Vic producer with an intriguing fortified that couples grapes from four nations – Nero/Durif/Tinto Roriz/Shiraz. Light red coloured, it’s actually a quite elegant fortified, with lovely, quite light sweet red fruit. It’s surprisingly juicy, even with softly raisined fruit in s rounded melting pot of red and purple juicy fruit. Disarmingly easy – it’s almost like a ruby port. That said, I think I want more tannins than this offers – the finish falls away just a little quicker than you’d like. Attractive, but I want to love this even more. Best drinking: Look, it’s a nice wine now but no doubt it will be better in years to come. I’d even think about waiting 3-5 years just to even think about revisiting. 17.5/20, 91/100. 17.8%, $25. Would I buy it? I’d like a bottle to see what it does but no rush to buy as yet.
