Eldorado Road Luminoso Rosè 2017

Eldorado Road Luminoso Rosè 2017

Another high quality release from Eldorado Road. The 2018 may well be out soon, but I’m in catchup mode and anyway this is looking good. A blend of Nero d’Avola and Shiraz, it’s more like a textural rosato than some tangy Provence style, with lees maturation in old oak for richness. It works too, with a little creamed strawberry on the nose, then this round, finely leesy, soft edged palate. It’s ripe, full-flavoured but still shapely enough to be refreshing. A rosé that I’d want to drink.

Best drinking: Now. 17.7/20, 92/100. 13%, $25. Would I buy it? Yes. For sure.
