Nikkal Yarra Valley Pinot Noir 2017
The entry level Pinot from Kate Goodman and it’s easily attractive. It’s a smoky, serious edge wine at first, complete with a whiff of ham, underneath though it’s gentle and pretty, with raspberry fruit in a gentle, if acid-shaped form. Good, varietal Pinot in a bony, elegant style.
Best drinking: Probably better next year and then up to five years. 17.5/20, 91/100. 13%, $25. Would I buy it? Worth it at $25.
