S.C. Pannell Grenache Shiraz Touriga 2017

S.C. Pannell Grenache Shiraz Touriga 2017

Known as ‘the purple one’ at cellar door, this is composed of old vine Grenache from Seaview cofermented with Shiraz from Steve’s Koomilya Vineyard. Includes 9% Touriga. Spends 8 months in large oak. Juicy fruit is the mode here, if just a bit reduction and reticent. I like the smashability of the style though – Grenache leading the way in all its berry glory. Affable, if just missing that final gear to take it to megastar level. Best drinking: maybe later this year then up to ten (easy). 17/20, 90/100+. 14%, $30. Would I buy it? A glass.
