Review: Silkwood Estate Pinot Noir 2018

I’m still not convinced the Silkwood Vineyard is right for Pinot (but then again, where in WA is really Pinot country?), but this Silkwood Estate Pinot Noir 2018 is drinkable.

Sappy raspberry fruit is varietal and attractive – it’s almost Mornington-esque in that raspberry ripe fruit. The middle introduces some vanilla oak into the red fruit and fills out nicely. The main gripe remains the slightly green edged tannins. 9/10ths of the way there, I think. Best drinking: now to five years. 17/20, 90/100. 14%, $30, Would I buy it? A glass.
