Silkwood’s wines have taken big leaps in recent vintages but there remains stumbles. This Pemberton Chardonnay has ripe fruit but a lumpy middle, the flavours end up tinny and a bit scalped with a sweet and sour finish. Promise, but not the delivery to be compelling. Best drinking; nowish. 16/20, 87/100. 13.5%, $20. Would I buy it? No.
