This Chapel Hill The Parson Cabernet Sauvignon 2019 is a value champ. Firm, hearty, varietal McLaren Vale Cabernet in a robust mode. An overachiever for just $20.
Minty, dark berry fruit, a real fullness through the palate and backed by drying tannins. A lot of wine for $18. It just lacks some generosity through the finish to make it truly convincing. But a great red for the dollars regardless. Best drinking: it will still be alive in the best part of a decade. 17/20, 90/100. 14.5%, $18. Chapel Hill website. Would I buy it? Not personally, but I’d recommend it freely.
