Joven-style Sangiovese from the Whistling Eagle Vineyard in Heathcote, made by fellow writer James Scarcebrook . Bright ruby red, it’s a bright and youthful style with jubey dark berry fruit, no oak and then sandpaper tannins. Good varietal character and nice tannins. It finishes a tad spirity, but that doesn’t destroy the charm. Good. Best drinking: within the next five years. 17 /20, 90/100. 14.5%, $34.99 . Vino Intrepido website. Would I buy it? Worth a glass
