Escape Room Sauvignon Blanc 2021

Review: Escape Room Sauvignon Blanc 2021

Escape Room is the new label from the Chapel Hill team focused on fun reds and whites. This Escape Room Sauvignon Blanc 2021 is one of my favourites from the collection – a Fleurieu Peninsula Sauvignon Blanc that was wild fermented, went through malo (not sure whether it’s full or partial malo), with no fining and some haze. Has some tang too, with a phenolic grip to flesh out along with passionfruit and some creamy fruit thanks to malo. I like this! It has personality, and the wildness is quite well contained. Varietal, too, albeit in a creamed passionfruit mode. Well done. Best drinking: now. 17.5/20, 91/100. 13%, $27. Chapel Hill website. Would I buy it? A glass or two.
