I feel like a broken record talking up these 2022 Eden Valley Riesling releases. Yes, they’re great. Tune out now if you’re not on this Rizza bandwagon with me.

Anyway, this Heggies Estate Riesling 2022 is both floral and slatey, with that crushed rock Eden Valley thing (which is just particular expressions of sulphur compounds FWIW), white flowers and then a hint of something spring breezy. Like when you walk past a florist and catch just a passing whiff. After the expression of the nose the palate is a bit strict, but with super freshness and such energy. This is a lovely pure drink, there are no other ways to put it, and the perfect serious but drinkable summer delight.

Best drinking: why not now? Sure, you can wait, but why? 18/20, 93/100. 11.5%, $26. Heggies Vineyard website. Would I buy it? In an instant.
