Do you drink much premium local rosé? My family are very partial to well-made pink, so the radar is always on for better wines.
What have you loved? I certainly liked this Tarrawarra Estate Pinot Noir Rosé 2023.
Partial barrel ferments add complexity to this Yarra Pinot rosé, and it feels well-built and clever. It’s a formative but serious style, too – there’s a little strawberry cream generosity, but the palate and finish ends up dry and tight. Indeed, it’s quite a sophisticated pink, if just a little angular on the firm finish. Drinkable+.

Premium local gear has a few good examples. Farr Saignee, Cobaw Ridge Pinko and more recently the Ludo Pearl rosé have all been standouts in the past year. Each very different though.
The Farr is a bit punchy alcohol wise (13s) but very compelling imo. Pinko and Ludo both delicious and had a fair whack of winemaking thrown at then
