The Heggies Chardonnay wines have gained some weight (again) in recent vintages, which isn’t such a bad thing. Are we over the aneamic Chardonnay hump? I dunno, hopefully. This standard ‘Estate’ wine has sawdust oak, ripe stone fruit, and a creamed peach and apricot note from nose to palate. Plenty of sunshine here, chunky oak and fruit, but with a crisp finish. Solid drinking for a more toasty golden style that will win some fans, even if I see it as a bit blunt.
