‘Sauvignon Blanc is a B tier white grape’
I love Reddit. It’s a misinformation gold mine, but also excellent for tracking real opinions (however shitty). That quote above is from a recent post in r/wine and about sums up how Sauvignon Blanc is seen in Australian fine wine circles. ie it’s a grape that is constantly shat on.
But do you drink it?
Despite the hate, and acknowledging that Sauvignon Blanc’s popularity has likely peaked in this country, the grape still offers a blend of freshness, aromatic intensity, and a distinct personality that I think will keep winning over drinkers, no matter what asshole wine critics/Reddit randos say.
