Tempus Two Copper Label Cabernet Merlot 2007

Tempus Two Copper Range Cabernet Merlot 2007 (Langhorne Creek, SA) $24, Screwcap

(Disclosure: I once worked for Tempus Two back in the days before it had such a impressive cellar door, back when it was Lisa Mcguigan’s baby)

Sexy labels on these Tempus Two wines. From memory they cost a bit too. More recently however the labelling has been the most impressive feature of these wines. No exception here.

Bright purple colour. Red berry, sawdust, glace cherry and some cherry ripe on the fleshy nose. The palate is curiously soapy – there is a bitter, distinctively sour and astringent character that is actually quite unpleasant, the finish splinteringly oaky.

Rather a disappointment. 14.5

  1. I think that is a very generous score.

  2. It's good wine actually. In Canada it's $19 and beats most of what you find at that price.

  3. todays date 2011 january… i disagree thought it was quite pleasant. i'm wondering if it was rather young when you tried it?
