Now, what we’ve all been waiting for – a bargain. Fermented in a combination of new and old oak, this has that perfect combination of juicy fruit and enough savoury structure to hold everything together.

It smells bright and juicy and juiced up on the nose, the oak supporting with an extra layer of coconut sweetness. It tastes initially very sweet, both in oak and fruit, before the confection gives way to spice and tannin on the back palate.

Pretty solid drinking and very well made. The very model of affable and generous $17 Shiraz. Good!

Drink: 2013-2016
Score: 17/20 90/100
Would I buy it? No, but I know many who would. And should.
