A tricky vintage in the west 2012, a very warm one that required careful management to keep everything in balance. This looks more forward than other vintages too, if still well made and well priced.
Briny limey and sherbety smelling wine – both lean and full all at once. Powerful, grapefruity palate has quite soft acidity all things considered, yet also looks rather forward too. I like that crisp and integrated natural acidity, even if the palate is a little imprecise. Drinkable.
Drink: 2013-2018+
Score: 17/20 90/100
Would I buy it? I think I’d prefer the 11, but still worth a recommendation, even if I wouldn’t be moved enough to buy.
