I do like the crafty Logan labels. Distinctive and good looking. Oh and Pete Logan has done well on the back label here – ‘Pour a big glass. We like big glasses’ it says. Who doesn’t like big glasses…
Light ruby red. A whiff of blood and bone (which is ‘turned earth’ according the back label. Love that phrase) over a just slightly weedy and leafy palate – A little more ripeness wouldn’t of hurt here. Still, it’s light and crunchy with a nice boysenberry line through the mid palate lightening things up and minimal oak influences to intrude over that light fruit.
Whilst this Shiraz is perhaps just a little too pointy and light to be deeply satisfying, I still think its a pretty merit-worthy sort of mid-weight Shiraz.
Drink: 2013-2016
