Ah, a flashback wine! Fiercely aromatic, pyrazine-laden and utterly distinctive in its aromatic sharpness, with a suitably delineated, sour and firm palate.
Every bit the super Marlborough Sauv from an era when Cloudy Bay was king, with a huge concentration of flavour and acidity and unmistakeable flavours. You can basically predict how this wine was made without even looking, which makes this wine something to admire (even if I’m not sure how much I could drink).
Drink: 2013-2015
Score: 17/20, 90/100
Would I buy it? Perhaps not. But still plenty of merit.
