South Burnett via the Hunter. Or so the style would seem. Plenty of northern NSW (Hastings River and even New England) wineries can do the early-picked Semillon style, so why not sunny QLD?

This is a pretty likeable sort of wine too, already quite toasty and forward it reminds me a little of the Upper Hunter Semillon style of Arrowfield and Two River, if carrying more raspy acidity and a slightly gluey mid-palate (slightly underripe fruit?). Still, there is refreshment behind the wooly edges, making this intriguing if nothing else.

A killer options wine if ever there was one and perhaps a style worth more investigation (plus early picked Semillon is a style well suited viticulturally to humid warmer climes). Encouragement award for sure.

Drink: 2013-2017
Score: 16.5/20 88/100
Would I buy it? Probably not, but there is potential here.
