Admirably priced for a Coonawarra Savvy, the red in this series is always a consistent performer. This didn’t me much though.
Muted, almost plastic nose, the suggestion of underripeness hard to ignore, backed up by hard herbal edges. Palate too is raw, lacks generosity and finishes angular. I’m sure other vintages have been riper than this, and even a little residual sugar would probably work wonders. As it stands this is ordinary.
Drink: 2014
Score: 15/20, 82/100
Would I buy it? I’d rather drink water.
