Sourced from the original Singlefile vineyard in Denmark, Great Southern, this Chardonnay is another reminder of just how far the Singlefile range has come.
A special mention has to made to The Great West Australian One (Larry Cherubino) who has really upped the quality since coming on board as a consultant in 2009.
You can see Larry’s prints all over this Chardonnay too which looks worked and toasty but balanced out by grapefruit acidity. That oak and yeast looks a bit blunt at first, but the more air it gets, the more open the package looks.
Flavour concentration alone makes the $45 price valid. Is only going to get better in 12 months time.
Drink: 2014-2017
Score: 18/20, 93/100+
Would I buy it? Give it 12 months and that might be yes.
