Alkoomi Frankland River Riesling 2013

Alkoomi Frankland River Riesling 2013 (Frankland River, WA)
12.1%, Screwcap, $22

I wasn’t the biggest fan of the shy and light 2012 but this looks to be back in the groove.

Water clear, this is classic Alkoomi Riesling from nose to tail, all kaffir lime and grapefruit, stern acidity and just a little mid palate weight. It’s not an overly intense wine, but the clean, pristine lines are quite attractive. I find it a little tart to finish, though not enough to detract from what is a pretty handy wine.

Good, well priced Frankland River Riesling (and certainly one of the better Alkoomi Rizzas).

Would I buy it? I’d go thirds in a bottle.
