Mud House Pinot Gris 2013 (Marlborough, NZ)
13.5%, Screwcap, $18.99
By the numbers Marlborough Pinot Gris.
Has a muted, sweaty pear nose that initially suggests life, but that is a misnomer. Underneath the palate is simple and lifted up by residual sugar, the flavours suggesting a wine made in tank from high yielding fruit. There’s some clean, pineapple mango sweetness but it doesn’t last long and the finish is non-existent.
