Lethbridge Que Syrah Syrah 2012 (Geelong, Vic)
12.5%, Screwcap, $30
Mulchy and suggestively whole-bunch yet 100% destemmed (apparently). Lively flavours of red berries, hung meat and just a hint of astringency to the tannins.
Still, what this presents is a very grown-up Shiraz, the tannins raw and real, the acid noticeable, the vibrancy a clear indicator of high quality fruit. Those leafy, meaty edges aren’t always going to seduce, but the persistence and heart is commendable.

Would I buy it? I’d drink a glass or two but not sure if I could do much more than that?
