View Road Wines Picked by my wife Sagrantino 2012 (McLaren Vale, SA)
14.5%, Screwcap, $27
This wine’s bigger brother was impressive and I might like this even more. Second labels are like that sometimes. What’s even more exciting is just how much promise both wines show for Vale Sagrantino…
All old oak, this was matured in 3 French + 1 American oak hogsheads. Fruit comes from Seaview in McLaren Vale.

That lack of oak has delivered a seriously impressive wine, mid weight but with loads of energy – the tannins are a little light compared to some Montefalco perhaps, but the overall effect works.
