Light straw coloured, this ‘medium dry’ (according to the IRF scale on the back) Mount Barker Riesling has an old fashioned lemonade lemon juiciness on the nose, before a generous and broad palate, the sweetness giving this a flesh and roundness then a gently sweet finish.

There’s loads of flavour here, but it just lacks the incision to back up the sweetness. Unconvinced that it needs to be this sweet, even despite the excellent length. Drink: 2015-2020. 16.5/20, 88/100

Details: 10.3%, Screwcap, $40, Sample
Would I buy it? Not quite.
