From Capital Wines’ Kyeema Vineyard, this is a blend of 70% Tempranillo and 30% Shiraz. Lots of love for Temp. around the Canberra district – It’s early days, so I’m reserving my judgement. What do you think?

Purple maroon red. Caramelised red earth and white pepper on the nose with sweet licorice and plenty of milk chocolate oak. Sort of a sweet and sour style, there is a cool and savouriness, almost brackish and spicy. Still, that’s lifted up by redcurrant fruit to give some flesh to a quite dry palate.

There’s definitely the bones of goodness here, if just a little underpowered to be magnificent. Drink: 2015-2026. 17.5/20, 91/100
