Murray’s presence in NSW continues to rise, with their brod range popping up both on tap and in bottle shops all over the state.
This started as one of Murray’s ‘Short Supply’ experimental beers and then entered the mainstream.
Brewed with European ‘caramalts’ (which can give a red colour), and a combo of Mosaic and Mt Hood hops.
Mild and round, the nose is mainly driven by malt, with a cooking chocolate basic flavour highlighted by some light hop bitterness.
Pleasant and somewhat sessionable, but just lacks the intensity of other red IPA styles and falls a bit flat. 3 stars. 5.8%
(I’m going to include Best Before dates on each beer note now, as it makes a big difference. This is 18/03/17).
