Rock of Wisdom Barossa Grenache 2014
While this didn’t quite hit the high notes of the Mataro, it’s another nice wine. Just 852 bottles made.
Lifted red fruit nose. Real Grenachey raspberries, with some whole bunch brick dust perhaps? Slightly warm palate is fleshy yet just a little syrupy at the edges. Has an easy charm and I like the varietal signature here, even if it is a bit diffuse. Best drinking: 2016-2022. 17/20, 90/100. 14.2%, $28. Would I buy it? I’d go a glass.
