Deep, black, ripe fruit. That’s the core style of this Hither & Yon reds – and the hallmark of the winery’s reds in general. Ripe and full.

With this Cab there’s a dash of varietal mint, and a flow of blackberry fruit and a slightly raw finish.

A wine of punch, volume and thrust. What it lacks is delicacy, but that’s not exactly what McLaren Vale Cab is about. Solid, hearty drinking, but with a sweet fruit polish. Likeable, if just a little raw-edged. Best drinking: 2017-2027. 17/20, 90/100. 14%, $24. Would I buy it? Good drinking for these dollars, even if I’d just want a glass.
