‘Lana’ is Pizzini’s new range and is named after the family’s home town home in northern Italy.

Classic Langhe blend (in a King Valley form) and looking good here. Bright ruby red, it’s joyously ripe with lots of raspberry fruit and life, the whole package finished off with proper tannin thrust. A light, juicy red, but with enough more classic structure to make you want another glass – almost joven-like, but with more depth. Best drinking: 2017-2024. 17.5/20, 91/100. 13.8%, $28. Would I buy it? Sure would.
