Chapel Hill Parsons Nose Grenache Shiraz Mourvedre 2016
Another runaway bargain from Chapel Hill.
Hearty and even a little rustic, the style driven by blocky tannins rather than just fruit. Indeed its chewy, licoricey and so much grip for an $18 wine. Will only get better with time in bottle. I love just how savoury this is. Super value, even if it’s only a mid-weight wine. Best drinking: Good now, will live for at least eight years. 17.5/20, 91/100. 14.5%, $18. Would I buy it? Sure would.
