Ruckus Estate the Q Merlot 2015

A wine to remind that not all Australian Merlot need be boring. Ruckus Estate/Merite Wines are pushing the Q45 clone and giving the grape the love it deserves. This Ruckus Estate the Q Merlot 2015 is a standout too – another Wrattonbully wine made with care and attention.

Lots of berry fruit, a hint of mint, then a mid plate of plump choc berry and fine tannins.  Such an elegant, grown up Merlot style with defined edges,Why isnt there more juicy-yet-serious Merlot like this?

Best drinking: Now to ten years (likely more). 17.7/20, 92/100. 14%, $35. Would I buy it? I’d share a bottle, likely drink most myself.
